American electric automaker Tesla has teased its highly awaited cheaper electric model with a new silhouette image during the annual shareholder meeting on May 16.

During the presentation, CEO Musk announced that the automaker is currently developing two new electric vehicles, showcasing a silhouette image of what appears to be the next model. Refer to the photo attached to the Tweet below:

It is also worth noting that CEO Musk clarified that this EV is already being “built.” However, it remains unclear whether the statement means that the car has already started production or Tesla is just “building” a prototype.

Could it really be the cheaper EV?

The auto industry, especially those Tesla enthusiasts, has been expecting the automaker to produce a smaller electric hatchback. It is commonly called the “Tesla Model 2” or the “$25,000 Tesla.”

Furthermore, a Tesla prototype that looks to have been based on a Mazda has just been sighted being tested in China, where Tesla has stated it will develop and produce its next car.

As mentioned, CEO Musk already confirmed during the 2023 Shareholder Meeting that two yet-to-be-revealed EVs are now under development.

Interestingly, Tesla predicts that these two cars will sell 5 million units annually on average.

“People always want to know what our next product is, but this not the time … we obviously need to have a proper, dedicated product launch. I just want to emphasize we are actually building a new product, not just designing a new product – we’re not sitting on our hands here.

There are two new products that I think you will be very excited about, and the design of the product and the manufacturing techniques [used] are head and shoulders above anything else that is present in the industry. If I were to guess, of these two new products… just these two new products alone we can probably make – this is just Elon’s guess, so don’t sue me – … in excess of five million units a year of these two models combined.”

Tesla CEO Elon Musk

Although the automaker has not yet clarified, many expect the two EVs to be the cheaper and smaller model and what the Tesla boss calls “robotaxi.” For those unaware, robotaxis are purposedly developed for autonomous driving and taxi service.

In hindsight, Tesla had already discussed building a less expensive variant at the Gigafactory Shanghai and exporting the car worldwide.

All that said, it would be really nice to have a $25,000 Tesla available in the market. Many people may be encouraged to consider switching to EVs if they can buy a Tesla vehicle for that low price.

Elon, go out there and kill it today at the 2023 Tesla shareholder meeting. 🔥🔥🔥 @elonmusk

ISSUE: Many current & new investors seem to be invested in the company for the wrong intentions & reasons and it's time to set the record straight for anyone that is forgetting why he… pic.twitter.com/MLRMIk1cqt
