The iconic vehicle was originally used for military applications. With North American Electric Vehicles’ touch, the model now has the Tesla Model S‘ dual-motor powertrain that generates an output of more than 600 hp.

Modification

North American Electric Vehicles redesigned the Humvee EV’s interior and exterior features considerably. It now boasts a black vinyl interior with a contemporary infotainment system and d 20″ alloys. The company also offers a full leather interior design option for $6,000.

The company developed the Humvee EV to support Level 2 charging and equipped it with GPS Speedometer.

In addition, the EV with the standard battery pack has a driving range of up to 150 miles between charges. Customers can choose the larger battery pack, which supports a driving range of 300 miles per charge for an additional $20,000.

As for the pricing, it may set you back as it costs an astounding $98,600 before upgrades.

Below are the Humvee EV’s key specs, as the company told Electrek:

  • BODY: 4 Door Humvee Pickup
  • MOTOR: Dual Tesla Model S – 600 HP
  • BATTERY: Standard Range – 150 Miles Range
  • EXTERIOR: Gray Color
  • INTERIOR: Black Vinyl
  • SEATS: Corbeau Moab Vinyl
  • Level 2 Charge System
  • GPS Speedometer
  • Ipad Display
  • 4X4
  • 37″ Tires and 20″ Rims
  • Black Canvas Top

Process

It is worth noting that all the company’s projects adhere to one process:

  1. Vehicle disassembling
  2. Media blasting and metal repairing
  3. Paint and body restoration
  4. Adding modifications
  5. Vehicle reassembling
  6. Wiring and upholstery upgrading
  7. General polishing
  8. Road testing

The company had already converted a 1965 Porsche 356C, a 1967 Ford Mustang, and a 1964 Mercedes 230 SL before, demonstrating the standard process’ efficiency and effectiveness in this kind of project.

The company claims to be the “#1 choice for fully restoring your classic vehicle whilst converting it to electric. Every part of the restoration/conversion is done in house. Each of our builds begins with a customer supplied vehicle.”

The iconic Humvee EV is about the same price as GMC Hummer EV. It may not be as fast and innovative, but the Humvee seems cooler than its modern counterpart.
