Tesla’s delivery target for 2030
As mentioned, Tesla set a target of delivering a total of 1.8 million electric vehicles globally in 2023 alone. It is indeed a challenging pursuit, considering the production slowdown in the third quarter due to its factory upgrades.
Nonetheless, Gigafactory Shanghai’s production prowess significantly aided Tesla in boosting its electric vehicle supply amid the strong demand. It currently has an annual production output of 950,000+ Model 3 and Y units, CnEVPost noted, citing Tesla’s Q3 2023 Financial Report.
It is also worth noting that the growing interest in crossover body styles enabled the Tesla Model Y to beat its sibling Model 3 as the brand’s top-selling model across the world, as reported by Teslarati. That said, it is unsurprising that the all-electric crossover is now sold out in the Chinese market.
With these recent developments, Tesla is indeed on track to hit its self-set target of 1.8 million sales this year.
