The first Tesla Model S and Model X Plaid vehicles for customer deliveries have reportedly arrived in Germany, as reported by Teslarati.
Spotted Model S & X Plaid in Germany
The news emerged after numerous haulers loaded with the Model S and Model X Plaid were spotted in various areas in the country.
Some Model S and Model X Plaid along with Long-Range variants were sighted on haulers while being delivered to consumers on Highway A3 in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia.
Notably, these captured pictures offer the first sight of a Model X Plaid vehicle destined for European buyers, compared to the Model S Plaid that has already been spotted recently.
Apart from that, another hauler loaded with Tesla’s premium sedan was identified on Highway A2, as shown in the last two photos on the Tweet above. As per the report, these cars were being delivered to customers close to Berlin.
Why has Europe not yet seen the debut of the Model S & X Plaid?
The company redesigned the Tesla Model S & X Plaid in late 2020 and early 2021, causing the delay of its highly-awaited launch in the European market. Nonetheless, it is now confirmed by the automaker that initial deliveries are scheduled to start in December.
Furthermore, Tesla was permitted to begin deliveries after receiving Certificates of Conformity a few months ago. For those unaware, Certificate of Conformity is the European concept of the free movement of goods, containing crucial product information.
Last week, many carriers headed for Zeebrugge departed from American ports, and numerous others are still on their way. More Model S and Model X Plaid units are expected to be delivered before the end of the year. That said, additional cargo ships are scheduled to depart the Port of Baltimore in Maryland in the upcoming days.
Tesla’s efforts to expand in Europe seem to be materializing with the arrival of the Model S & X Plaid in Germany. Despite its discouraging high prices, many customers are more likely to favor it as it offers more competitive features and specs than other electric vehicles.
