Previously, Tesla began selling its Wall Connector home electric vehicle charging system at Best Buy. It still sells the equipment on its website, and no matter where it is bought, the price stays the same, and the shipping is free, as per MSN.

Tesla sells its Wall Connector for $400. In addition, it provides a version of the Wall Connector for non-Tesla electric vehicles, retailing for $550. While that is not as appealing, it is still very reasonable compared to many other models with similar features and power.

Now that the Texas-based manufacturer aims to make its connector the new standard for North America, it is pulling out some stops.

$50 price drop for Tesla’s Wall Connector

Upon visiting Best Buy, it could be seen that the Wall Connector is now listed at $350. It is shown on the site as a $50 ‘price drop.’ However, it’s unclear whether it’s a temporary deal for the holidays or if this is Tesla’s new official price.

Heading to Tesla’s website and its online shop for comparison, the Wall Connector is listed for $350 in the store. It is not indicated whether this is a price drop or a discount; instead, it looks like it’s a new price for the EV charging system.

Notably, it would be a bit of a surprise if the automaker turned around and increased the price unexpectedly in the future, although the company has been known to do such things. Moreover, there was no official announcement regarding the price drop.

Price for J1772 Wall Connector remains the same

Unfortunately for non-Tesla owners, the newer black J1772 Wall Connector remains listed on Best Buy’s website, alongside Tesla Shop, for the regular price of $550.

Perhaps, the company would wait and provide a discount on the unit as it starts making more progress on opening up the Supercharger network to non-Tesla EVs.

If this happens, it would certainly garner the attention of many EV owners in the country, and maybe decide to like a Wall Connector for charging at home. However, Tesla’s plans remain unknown.
