Electric vehicle giant Tesla finally expanded the selling ground of its upgraded Model 3 Highland to North America on Wednesday, January 10.
To announce the significant development, Tesla released a short video clip on social media platform X.
Background
Tesla initially unveiled the “upgraded” Model 3 Highland last summer with improved designs such as a new backseat screen, new ambient light, etc.
Tesla only currently produces the revamped model of the popular all-electric sedan at the Gigafactory Shanghai in China. Meanwhile, the Chinese production hub exports the new Tesla Model 3 across Europe, Asia, and the Pacific.
At that time, Tesla did not announce any plans for the potential launch of the new Model 3 in North America.
North American launch
Finally, the Musk-led automaker has added the new Tesla Model 3 Highland to its online configurator for the region. The new markets include the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.
Tesla has now started to take customer orders for the revamped model, with plans to start deliveries between January and February 2024.
Tesla offers two variants for the Model 3 Highland in North America, including the Long Range AWD and Rear-Wheel Drive. The Performance variant is currently not available in the region, like in Europe.
Moreover, Tesla managed to maintain the model’s prices despite the upgrade.
“Enjoy an all-new interior that features a sleek, minimalist styling with a premium look and feel. The cabin is quieter than ever thanks to wrap-around acoustic glass, and includes new features like ambient lighting and ventilated seats.”
