Electric vehicle giant Tesla has just launched a limited-time discount offer for Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) users to upgrade to the Full Self-Driving (FSD) suite.
Tesla slashes FSD price by $1,000
Tesla is now offering a special $1,000 electric vehicle discount on new purchases when they opt to upgrade to the more advanced FSD software, according to a recent email to owners in the United States and Canada.
TSLA investor @SawyerMerritt shared a snapshot of Tesla’s email to owners using EAP on Sunday.
“Upgrade your Enhanced Autopilot to Full-Self Driving (Supervised) and transfer it to a new Tesla purchase to get $1,000 off your new order.”

To be specific, EAP users can benefit from a $1,000 discount for their next car purchase if they upgrade to FSD and transfer it to the new unit. However, interested owners must take delivery by September 30, 2024, to qualify.
Tesla further sweetens the deal with three months of complimentary Supercharging credits if owners take delivery by August 15, 2024.
EAP vs. FSD
For those unaware, the Enhanced Autopilot offers almost all the same features as the FSD suit, such as follows:
- Navigate on Autopilot
- Auto Lane Change
- Autopark
- Summon
- Smart Summon
The only advantages of the FSD suite are the inclusion of Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control, and Autosteer on City Streets.
Tesla to go all-in in FSD
Tesla has been gradually phasing out its Enhanced Autopilot advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) throughout this year.
It is apparently part of the Musk-led company’s strategy to focus on a wider FSD Supervised launch and the imminent Robotaxi platform debut.
For context, Tesla formally eliminated the Enhanced Autopilot system from its order configurator in the US market in April 2024. It also reduced the FSD Supervised price to $8,000 for an outright purchase, or $99/month.
Tesla also recently imposed mandatory FSD Supervised demonstrations for new EV customers. It is also currently working to introduce the system to other nations, potentially starting in China.
