Today, Tesla announced that its newly redesigned Model S electric vehicles will come standard with a “high-visibility glass roof.” The redesign is part of a more extensive product update.
Notably, the Model S and the Model X have recently undergone some undercover updates.
The incorporation of Tesla’s Hardware 4.0 Autopilot and Self-Driving sensors and computer is the primary reason for this, but the car manufacturer took advantage of the opportunity to add a few more features.
Tesla’s new high-visibility glass roof
Electrek broke the news that Tesla would be releasing a brand new “ultra red” color option for their Model S and Model X automobiles.
In addition to just offering the “yoke,” the car manufacturer has begun offering customers the option of a round steering wheel.
Now that all of these changes have been compiled, Tesla has emailed all of its customers with the details. Tesla has announced that it will incorporate a new “high-visibility glass roof” into the Model S.
“Our new Model S roof glass lets in more light, allowing a clearer view of the sky, day or night while maintaining the same level of heat and UV protection.”

Customers will get more features for less price
In comparison to the previous glass roof, Tesla’s new glass roof allegedly “weighs less” and “lets in five times more light,” all while maintaining the “same level of UV protection.”
Additionally, according to the automaker, it “improves handling” by assisting in lowering the vehicle’s center of gravity.
It is interesting to note that Tesla does not bring up the new Autopilot hardware in its further communications about its upgraded Model S and Model X. The changes are also anticipated for the Model 3 and Model Y.
The automaker wants to affect sales once the shift is made positively.
Tesla has highlighted the recent price reduction, even though the company remains silent about the most significant modification to the Model S and Model X.
It states that you are getting “more features for less.” Earlier this week, it was reported that Tesla significantly lowered the prices of both the Model S and the Model X. The base price of the Model S now begins at just $90,000.
