Tesla FSD Beta program enrolled 285,000 cars

According to a tweet from Tesla’s official account, the FSD Beta was made available to North American customers who purchased it this year. It further noted that the program has already enrolled 285,000 cars.

“Enabled anyone in North America who has purchased FSD to request FSD Beta, reaching 285k cars total.”

Tesla’s target

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the company is striving to increase the number of testers during his appearance at All In Summit earlier this year. Besides this, he stated that Tesla hopes to have 1 million testers by the end of 2022.

Subscribed to FSD and in less than 5 minutes beta is being downloaded on my car. Beta is truly wide release! Amazing stuff @tesla @elonmusk!

Despite only enrolling 285,000 vehicles, they still made noteworthy progress, particularly in the previous year.

Tesla FSD Beta’s progress

According to Tesla’s Q4 2021 Update Letter, there were only 60,000 FSD Beta vehicles in the US just one year ago. Since then, the FSD Beta fleet has expanded to the point where it reached 160,000 users in North America in Q3 2022.

Tesla’s FSD Beta fleet has increased to 285,000 vehicles, which indicates a growth of 475% yearly. It also showed a 78% increase from one quarter to the next.

The Full Self-Driving suite customers in the United States received a wide release of FSD Beta 10.69.3.1, which started late last month. Since Q3 2022, Tesla FSD Beta has increased by 78% and about 475% YoY.

Conversely, 2022 was a record across the board for Tesla itself with record profit, deliveries, production, energy deployment, three new factories opening, FSD Beta progress, margins, FCF & much more. On to 2023! pic.twitter.com/5plAIoG9Wp

CEO Elon Musk has been genuine about the concept that FSD will make or break Tesla’s value in the coming years. Although the system has yet to be able to drive independently, FSD has undoubtedly made significant progress this year.
