Early this month, reports surfaced indicating that Tesla has begun posting job vacancies relevant to Cybertruck on its Careers Page. Now that additional positions associated with Cybertruck production have been added, it appears that the automaker is on a hiring spree at Giga Texas, as reported by InsideEVs.
Cybertruck is set to arrive in the second half of 2023
In retrospect, Tesla launched the Cybertruck in 2019. About three years have passed, but the production version has yet to be released.
Apart from that, the American automaker has not yet provided the specifics of the Cybertruck production version to its followers and reservation holders.
Impacts of possible changes to the Cybertruck
There are always two sides to every situation. For instance, several reservation holders may back out from buying the Cybertruck if there are changes in its pricing and design. Meanwhile, some customers who initially had no interest in purchasing a Cybertruck might start to do so now that it appears to be actually going on sale.
Notably, there will likely be significant improvements and updates in the Cybertruck to draw in more customers.
Timeline
CEO Elon Musk previously announced that the Cybertruck is set to reach the markets in the second half of 2023. Meanwhile, the start of full-scale production might not happen until later in the year.
That said, some reservation holders may need to wait a few more years before receiving their order.
However, the Cybertruck will probably arrive in some shape next year, given the abundance of job postings and hiring that seems to be taking place. Nonetheless, that is still a significant accomplishment even if it is redesigned, more costly, and initially manufactured in smaller batches.
Job postings
It is also worth noting that all of the openings in the initial batch of job posts on Tesla’s Careers page pertained to the Cybertruck Body in White (BIW). It includes the following positions:
