Tesla has delayed the installation of Superchargers in Australia, pushing goal dates by as much as 12 months.

According to a report by The Driven, Tesla has pushed back some target dates for installing Superchargers in Australia, delaying it by up to a year.

It was reported that the Devonport Supercharger in Tasmania was scheduled to start operating in 2021. Still, some delays led to longer waits to charge and more frustration for Tesla EV owners. It was also said that Tesla is automatically capping charges at 80% at busy sites.

The installation delays came after Tesla pushed out the wait times for its Model 3 –Tesla’s only car now available in Australia with a delivery estimation. People can still order the Model X and Model Y, but Tesla does not indicate when they will be delivered. But even though Tesla has delays in its EV deliveries, Tesla sales are continuously increasing.

It is also reported that Tesla is one of Australia’s largest EV Charger operators. With nearly 50 sites available, it is the third-largest operator after Chargefox and Evie Networks.

Here is the list of the upcoming superchargers to be installed in Australia. Out of 18 sites, 13 have been delayed from 3 months to a year.
