Twitter/X user @Teslaconomics shared a leaked video of the Tesla Cybertruck within the walls of Giga Texas on the popular social media platform, revealing the all-electric pickup’s front trunk for the first time. It ultimately confirmed recent speculations that the highly-awaited Cybertruck has a small frunk.
What’s the big deal?
Frunks are apparently considered a more significant element in battery-powered pickups compared to regular passenger EVs, as they feature beds instead of trunks.
The truck bed is usually exposed like an open box. In contrast, the Cybertruck offers an enclosed truck bed, ensuring that the back area of the vehicle is protected from the outside environment. It lets owners keep their things inside safe and clean, unlike a regular truck bed that can get dirty due to its openness to various outer elements. Interestingly, many EV customers find it attractive to such enclosed spaces like the one the Cybertruck has.
This latest leaked video disappointed previous expectations that the Cybertruck would have a huge frunk, considering the previous leaks that showed its large hood opening.
As you can see in the video above, the Cybertruck’s frunk appears capable of storing a couple of carry-on luggage or groceries.
