Tesla’s Cybertruck has once again impressed the electric vehicle space with a remarkable real-world 0-60 mph acceleration figure.

Apart from the 0-60 mph sprint, the Cybertruck’s top-end tri-motor Cyberbeast variant also underwent a 1/8 and quarter-mile run conducted by owner @DblCapCrimpin.

Tesla’s claimed figure

Tesla indicated in the Cyberbeast specification that this top-end Cybertruck variant can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 2.6 seconds. It is indeed impressive, considering that the Cyberbeast is a 3.1-tonne boxy vehicle without exceptional aerodynamics.

In hindsight, Tesla previously put the Cyberbeast against a Porsche 911 in a special drag race at the Delivery Event on November 30, 2023. The Tesla electric pickup beat the Porsche 911 despite towing another 911 at the same time with a mind-blowing 0-60 time of 2.6 seconds.

Thanks to an early Cyberbeast owner, we get to see the e-pickup’s real-world acceleration figures to validate Tesla’s claims.

Real-world acceleration results

Tesla Cyberbeast owner @DblCapCrimpin used his “Dragy” to determine the vehicle’s real-world acceleration figures at the dragstrip.

As you can see in the POV video attached to the X post above, the Tesla Cybertruck sprinted from 0-60 mph in just 2.68 seconds. For comparison, this result is not very far from Tesla’s claimed 2.6 seconds acceleration time.

In addition, the Cyberbeast run the quarter-mile in just 11.85 seconds ([email protected] mph). It slightly fell short of Tesla’s claimed figure of under 11 seconds.

Nonetheless, Cybertruck achieved an impressive 1/4 mile number even though it decelerated after the 1/8 mile mark.

These remarkable results only highlight Tesla’s continuous improvement when it comes to powertrain and software technology.
