Tesla’s Cybertruck production ramp-up appears to be on track, with over 100 units spotted outside Giga Texas by popular drone operator @JoeTegtmeyer.
Cybertruck production progress
The Musk-led company seems to be continuously boosting the production of its highly awaited electric pickup, considering the increasing number of deliveries and production units spied at Giga Texas.
It is indeed remarkable, considering that Tesla has only started the Cybertruck’s production in late 2023.
Unfortunately, Tesla omitted to reveal the number of Cybertruck it has already delivered to early customers in the fourth quarter report. In that sense, It now combines the number of Model S, Model X, Tesla Semi, and Cybertruck deliveries into one category.
This lack of available data prompts Cybertruck enthusiasts and media outlets to question how many Tesla Cybertrucks have already been delivered to their owners.
Fortunately, drone operators like Joe Tegtmeyer give us some idea about the Cybertruck’s production progress.
Production target
For context, Tesla set a target of ramping up production to 250,000 Cybertruck units annually in about 18 months. Therefore, the American electric automaker may hit this significant milestone by mid-2025.
As of now, Tesla is delivering early customers the Cybertruck AWD Foundation Series, a limited variant that costs a whopping $100,000.
Tesla is expected to roll out the Cybertruck’s top-tier variant, the $120,000 CyberBeast, in the following months. Meanwhile, the entry-level variant will follow at a later date.

Despite the ambiguity surrounding the number of Cybertruck deliveries, demand was never an issue with the steel electric pickup. However, the challenge lies in Tesla’s capability to produce enough units to match the enormous demand. As of September 2023, reservation holders already surpassed the 2 million Cybertruck units threshold.
