Leading American automaker Tesla has been actively working on perfecting its Full Self-Driving technology for its customers through over-the-air software updates.

In that sense, electric vehicle enthusiast @WholeMarsBlog posted on the social media platform Twitter about his experience with the FSD Beta v11.4.4, saying it is “getting freakishly good.”

It must be noted that Tesla CEO Elon Musk follows the content creator’s Twitter page. Therefore, it is unsurprising that he engages with @WholeMarsBlog’s Tweets occasionally, especially when it is about the automaker.

The Tesla boss replied to the FSD-related Twitter post, indicating that he already tested the FSD v12 Alpha build. For context, this version of the FSD suite has yet to be released, which CEO Musk described as “mind-blowing.”

I tested the version 12 alpha build today. It is mind-blowing.

What’s the big deal?

In retrospect, CEO Musk was already talking about the yet-to-be-released FSD’s 12th version. He disclosed that Tesla will launch the software update later this year. However, the company must still conduct multiple polishes to ensure its safety and performance.

Excitingly, CEO Musk also stated that FSD v12 would ultimately eliminate the “beta” label. Therefore, the company can officially refer to the technology as “Full Self-Driving.”

However, the technology will still not be a true “full self-driving” that would allow drivers to completely rely on the system. It would just offer enhancements and additional features on the prior versions.

@Tesla' FSD Beta V12 is the main focus right now at the Tesla AI team.

The big deal here is that FSD v12 will allude to a major development from hundreds of millions of miles of driving data and the launch of the Dojo supercomputer that will boost the company’s strategy in reaching full autonomy.

In addition, it will address the previous issues with the prior versions, advancing as the most accurate and powerful software to date. However, it may take some months before reaching customers’ vehicles.

CEO Musk previously announced that the automaker may launch the newest FSD version by late 2023. However, it must be noted that he usually has ambitious timelines for feature releases. Therefore, customers must expect a little delay until 2024.
