Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk has just commented on the Cybertruck’s accelerator issue, which prompted the company to temporarily halt delivery operations.
The Tesla CEO said that they had paused the Cybertruck’s delivery after careful consideration.
Tesla temporarily halted Cybertruck deliveries due to accelerator issue
Tesla recently paused the Cybertruck deliveries due to owners’ complaints about the electric pickup’s pedals.
Based on Tesla Cybertruck owners’ recent social media posts, the metal plate attached to the accelerator pedal could slide upward and become wedged between the pedal and the plastic bulkhead. This issue poses a safety risk for the Tesla Cybertruck owners and other motorists on the road as it results in the pedal being pressed unintentionally.
The Drive noted that owners encountering the accelerator issue must only hold the brake pedal to stop the electric pickup. However, it may still apparently move when they release the brake. In that sense, this issue could seriously interfere with the Cybertruck’s safe operation.
In response, Tesla immediately suspended the Cybertruck’s deliveries until it fixes the issue.
Tesla resumes Cybertruck deliveries
Fortunately, Tesla seems to have already come up with a fix to the Cybertruck’s accelerator issue. According to recent social media posts, Tesla has resumed the delivery push for the stainless steel pickup.
It is reportedly assigning the VINs of the Cybertruck units, with some order holders receiving updates from the company.
