Electric vehicle and Tesla enthusiasts have recently been spotting the highly awaited Cybertruck in different locations in the past few months as the pickup nears its initial production schedule before the handover event in late Q3 2023.
The most recent public appearance of the Cybertruck was on Saturday on the roads of Austin. What makes it interesting is the presence of the Tesla CEO himself behind the wheel.
Musk says driving the Cybertruck “was very fun”
Elon Musk shared a photo on Twitter over the weekend featuring an undisguised Cybertruck prototype. His caption was this: “Just drove Cybertruck around Austin!”
Unfortunately, he omitted to share any relevant details about the EV or its upcoming production, apart from his reply on his thread, saying that the drive “was very fun.”
Notably, the Cybertruck has also appeared in other US locations, particularly in Palo Alto, Fremont, and Austin. It has also been spotted during its winter testing in New Zealand.
A disguised Cybertruck has also been recently spotted cruising the 280 in Fremont, California, showcasing the EV’s smooth suspension.
These recent sightings of the Cybertruck showcase the pickup’s progress towards being a more production-ready model. Now that the CEO has tested driving the EV firsthand once again, the Cybertruck’s designs appear more finalized.

Finally, the Cybertruck will undergo production in September 2023 after numerous delays since its introduction in 2019. Tesla aims to initially produce a limited number of Cybertrucks this year and gradually scale up from 2024.
