Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced additional guidance on the automaker’s next release of FSD Beta, v11.3, as reported by Teslarati.
FSD Beta V11.3 Release target
The outspoken CEO responded on a Twitter query on January 15 that the software update is expected to roll out “later this week, next week at the latest.”
Notably, this announcement aligns with Musk’s estimation of “2 weeks” from a week ago. He noted that the next version of the FSD software would have major improvements as it aims to develop stability before public launch.
Exciting features of FSD Beta V11.3
CEO Musk has yet to reveal further details about the improvements the software update would bring. Nonetheless, he shared certain functions he is excited about in response to a Twitter query, including neural nets.
“Many small things. We’re starting to use neural nets for vehicle navigation & control, not just vision.”

What’s the function of neural networks?
NotATeslaApp claims that using neural networks for vehicle navigation and control may significantly improve Tesla’s FSD Beta.
Notably, Tesla has employed neural networks to ascertain a vehicle’s surroundings and the things around it. This technology essentially allows Tesla cars to make a vector space to avoid crashing with obstacles on the roads by identifying the following:
- where objects are
- what they are
- their distances from the vehicle
That said, Tesla cars can now navigate a course to their destination smartly and safely.
However, it seems that the automaker is only employing neural networks to ascertain the environment and not to control the car.
FSD Beta might act more humanlike than earlier versions if neural networks are also employed to control how a vehicle drives and chooses a path.
It is worth mentioning that Musk’s estimations for the FSD Beta release date are sometimes highly optimistic. However, the recent information he has been previewing implies that the software upgrade may be ready for wider distribution.
That said, it would not be shocking if FSD Beta V11.3 eventually reached Tesla’s initial FSD Beta testers in the upcoming weeks.
