Giga press for Cybertruck is now ready
The Tesla Cybertruck’s production machinery is being put together in advance of the automaker’s plans to manufacture the electric truck later this year.
According to recent images shared on Friday by Joe Tegtmeyer, Tesla’s Texas Gigafactory is constructing IDRA Cybertruck Giga Press, from the parts the company has received recently.
After being transported from Italy to Giga Texas, in October, they discovered the components for the Giga press inside IDRA’s large industrial-sized wooden boxes.
“Friday the 13th! Don’t get distracted by all the price cuts on Tesla cars. The real story is the assembly of the 9K-ton Giga Press! Here are a few images to get you started, much more on a busy Giga Texas in my YouTube video later today!,” Tegtmeyer stated.
Tegtmeyer noted that several boxes, each containing 28 to 30 separate parts, were shipped over the previous few weeks after the shipment on Thursday.
Cybertrucks will arrive by the end of 2023
The Gige press will construct the chassis and panels for the Cybertruck, an aluminum die-casting machine, allowing Tesla to scale production of the truck similarly to how it produces its Model 3 and Model Y.
The announcement precedes Tesla’s intention to launch Cybertruck production in mid-July. By the end of 2023, Cybertruck deliveries will start. Based on a report from November, deliveries using cybertrucks shall begin by the end of 2023.
In November, Tesla also made many job postings for the manufacturing of Cybertrucks. Many people are hoping that Tesla will move closer to its initial pricing for Cybertruck, which started at $39,900 as announced in 2019.
However, with recent price reductions all over the Tesla vehicle lineup, many are skeptical. But since almost four years ago, the world has experienced inflation and supply chain shortages.
