Tesla bags two titles in Car of the Year Awards with the new 3 and Y models

Electric vehicle giant Tesla has just received two new recognitions with its revamped Model 3 Highland sedan and Model Y SUV from prominent automotive outlet CarWow’s 2024 Car of the Year Awards.

Tesla Model 3 Highland (Outstanding EV)

CarWow awarded the “Outstanding EV” title to the newly launched Tesla Model 3 Highland.

The UK-based publication cited the revamped electric sedan’s remarkable performance and innovative technologies. It is unsurprising, given that Tesla filled the gaps of the model’s drawbacks when it launched the Highland.

It further praised the new Tesla Model 3’s improved comfort even while driving on rough roads without compromising efficiency. 

CarWow’s website displays a price range of RRP £39,990 – £49,990 for the Tesla Model 3.

Tesla Model Y (Highly Commended)

CarWow praised the Tesla Model Y’s aggressive pricing, which enabled the model to tap into a wider pool of customers in the electric vehicle market. It also commended the electric SUV’s cutting-edge and practical layout. 

The publication also emphasized the importance of affordability for offering e-SUVs to wider customers, which Tesla manages to deliver with its strategic pricing approach. 

CarWow’s review of the Tesla Model Y indicated that the model has excellent performance, a long driving range, convenient charging, and generous luggage space. Its website currently has a RRP £44,990 – £59,990 price range for the.

Volvo EX30 gets the Car of the Year award

As for the highly coveted “Car of the Year” award for 2024, Volvo’s EX30 beat the Tesla Model 3 and Y.

CarWow lauded the Volvo EX30 as the best all-around EV and car overall due to its enticing price and remarkable features. It cited the compact electric SUV’s winning qualities as follows: 

  • driving comfort
  • efficient
  • affordable
  • generous front space

Tesla, known as the electric vehicle pioneer, has already received multiple awards in the past. In fact, the revamped Model 3 recently bagged Motor.no’s “Best Car You Can Buy” in Norway. The Tesla Model Y also gained the “Company Car of the Year” award from Parkers. It also has a strong potential to become the top-selling vehicle in the overall European auto market and even globally.
