American electric automaker Tesla has introduced a unique solution for its Model S and X customers in the UK, providing them with a handy accessory called ‘The Reacher.’

The move comes after the brand’s decision to halt the sale of right-hand drive (RHD) cars in certain markets, offering LHD configurations of its premium vehicles as an alternative.

Quirky tool adds to Tesla’s appeal despite RHD models’ discontinuation

Due to mechanical and logistical challenges, Tesla halted shipments of RHD Model S and Model X units in markets such as Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Thailand. Existing reservation holders in these regions were offered refunds or the opportunity to downgrade to the LHD Model Y or Model 3 as alternatives.

However, Tesla continued to offer the Model S and Model X with the left-hand drive configuration in countries like the UK and Japan, where LHD cars are permissible.

While driving an LHD vehicle in an RHD market may present inconveniences, Tesla has taken steps to address one of these challenges by offering UK customers’ The Reacher.”

As you can see in the photo attached to the Tweet above, it is a grabbing stick accessory that allows drivers to reach the passenger side window effortlessly. This tool proves useful for retrieving parking receipts, drive-through items, or any small objects exchanged from the other side.

While ‘The Reacher’ adds a touch of amusement to Tesla’s accessories lineup, it is unlikely to entirely alleviate the frustration experienced by some UK customers eagerly anticipating the RHD models.

Nonetheless, Tesla’s willingness to experiment and infuse its vehicles with unique features has endeared the brand to a dedicated fan base that embraces Tesla’s innovative spirit.

Hello, comment était votre week-end ? 🤓

For instance, the Musk-led automaker introduced the TeslaMic to Chinese customers, offering a distinctive in-car karaoke experience.

The Model X is no exception to Tesla’s playful nature, featuring numerous easter eggs, such as transforming the vehicle into a Mars rover on the navigation screen or choreographing its iconic falcon wing doors to dance to Christmas tunes.

Tesla’s continuous push for electric vehicle technology advancement demonstrates the brand’s unconventional approach, surprising and delighting customers in equal measure.

No, no es una broma!!!

Como Tesla no produce el Model S y Model X con el volante a la derecha pero los venden en Inglaterra, te regalan "The Reacher".

Un palo con pinzas al final para coger cosas por la ventana del pasajero.
😂🤣😂
