Open bookings

Tata Passenger Electric Mobility has opened bookings for the all-new Punch.ev on January 5, the first model to ride on the company’s all-electric acti.ev architecture.

Interested buyers can pre-order the Punch.ev by visiting authorized Tata Motors showrooms or Tata.ev stores and pay a ₹21,000 reservation fee.

They can also book the electric SUV for the same amount via the official online configurator. Customers can build their own Punch.ev by choosing their preferred driving range, model variant, sunroof option, charger type, and body paint.

Customers can cancel the pre-order at any time, but receiving the refund may take 4-5 days, HT Auto noted, citing Tata Motors dealer’s remarks.

The Long Range only has three variants, including the Empowered +, Empowered, and Adventure. Meanwhile, the Standard has five variants with the addition of Smart + and Smart.

Each of them has its own range of features and extras customized to various buyer preferences and financial capabilities. It will come available with monotone and dual-tone exterior color options, including those exclusive to the Empowered and Empowered+ variants.

Presented below are the key features of the Smart, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+ models:

Intriguingly, the list did not include the distinct features of the Smart+ variant. Nonetheless, the automaker displays it in the online configurator without a sunroof option and on the Pristine White exterior color.

The Punch.ev’s extended range can enable at least 300 kilometers between charges, potentially reaching 600 kilometers under ideal conditions. It supports 150 DC fast chargers to offer a rapid and convenient charging experience for owners.

A Tata Motors dealer reportedly expects the Punch.ev to cost between ₹12 lakh and ₹14 lakh (ex-showroom) when it hits the Indian market. The Indian automaker expects the Punch.ev to aid its efforts in dominating the country’s EV market. As of now, it already controls a whopping 85% of the market owing to the success of its existing models Nexon.ev, Tiago.ev, and Tigor.ev. We can expect to learn more details about the Punch.ev and its variants near its official market launch in mid-February 2024.
