Polestar is generating a significant buzz as it brings some of its new models at this year’s Goodwood FOS, including its maiden electric SUV Polestar 3, and the newest Polestar 5 prototype.
Apart from those two models, the Swedish automaker also brought its new Polestar 2 BST edition.
“It’s time for the Polestar 3 to take its first-ever run up the famous hill. The latest Polestar 5 verification prototype is here, too. Developed in the UK, Goodwood is like home turf for our electric 4-door GT.”

Polestar 3 debuts at Goodwood
Polestar initially introduced its maiden electric SUV Polestar 3, in October, with plans to start production by the end of 2023.
However, the automaker postponed the original plan to early 2024 as it decided on software for its new architecture shared with its parent company Volvo.
Now, the new electric SUV has gained significant attention as it debuted at Goodwood ahead of its official launch in 2024.
The Polestar 3 will share the same platform as the new Volvo EX90 and offer two settings: a long-range dual motor and a performance pack variant. Notably, both variants will have a 400-volt li-ion battery with 111 kWh capacity.
The LR dual motor variant boasts an output of 489 hp and 620 lb-ft of torque. It can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds. It claims to have an EPA-estimated driving range of up to 300 miles between chargers, with a base price of $83,900.
Meanwhile, the performance pack variant generates 517 hp and 671 lb-ft of torque. It boasts a 0 to 60 mph acceleration time in just 4.6 seconds. However, its EPA range is 30 less than the standard model at 270 miles. Its price starts at $89,900.
The newest Polestar 5 prototype impresses at Goodwood
In hindsight, Polestar also brought the electric 4-door GT Polestar 5’s prototype at 2022 Goodwood FOS. Now, the automaker has returned with the most recent updates to the prototype.
In 2020, Polestar stated that it had developed a production model of its Precept concept, confirming that it would be the Polestar 5 a year after the announcement.
The latest prototype integrates two electric motors at the rear and front, generating a combined output of 884 hp. It also has an 800-volt architecture. Polestar aims to officially launch the Polestar 5 in 2024.
On the other hand, the revamped Polestar 2 and BST edition 230 are currently up for purchase online. Likewise, the Polestar 3 will also be available online and at the company’s physical stores, with deliveries starting in Q2 2024.
