Japanese automaker Subaru has revealed that it will go all-electric by 2025 and launch new electric vehicles in the United States.
After a brief period of electrification in the industry, Subaru has decided to introduce an EV lineup in the US.
Subaru to launch new EVs in 2025
As mentioned, Subaru aims to be a 100% EV brand. It will launch new EV models with only pure electric vehicles by 2025.
Subaru and its strategic partner Toyota plan to shift to EV production and introduce new vehicles such as the Toyota BZ4x and the Solterra.
Notably, the US accounts for 75% of the company’s global sales. The automaker will proceed by closely monitoring US market trends and guaranteeing that they comply with regulations by going electric.
Subaru plans to manufacture its EVs in-house in its homeland. Moreover, it plans to build the company’s EV production line in Japan by 2027.
However, we are still determining when the company will begin producing electric vehicles in the US.
Subaru’s 2022 profit soars
The Japanese automaker’s 2022 profits have quadrupled from $172.1 million in 2021 to $782.6 million in 2022.
Therefore, we know it is good news for the brand as it moves forward with its electrified future. Now that the worldwide supply chain issues have been resolved, the chip shortage is on a downward trend. From now on, the company will prioritize having high sales figures.
In 2023, the brand sold over 550,000 vehicles in the United States alone. In 2023, the company expects to sell more than 600,000 vehicles.
