What’s special about the I-BEAM XFC?

According to the press release, the I-BEAM XFC concept substantially accelerates XFC integration into electric vehicles.

This cutting-edge concept employs the flagship 100in5 cell technology that claims to deliver a 100-mile (160 km) range in just 5 minutes of charging.

StoreDot equipped the I-BEAM XFC with its 100in5 electrodes for direct integration into the battery pack.

“It leapfrogs the complexity and cost challenges of embedding XFC capability at the vehicle level, allowing EVs to be charged even more rapidly.”

Structural Cooling concept

StoreDot designed the I-BEAM XFC’s cell structure to feature a patented Structural Cooling concept to improve thermal management.

Simply put, every cell has a cooling passage that enables the coolant to flow, enabling it to accept ultra-high currents to support fast charging with minimal overhead.

“With I-BEAM XFCTM, we have reimagined the architecture of the battery pack to truly unlock the potential of XFC in real-world vehicles. By taking a holistic approach, we have developed a concept that improves packing efficiency and battery life cycle, while enabling EV owners to charge as fast as filling up with petrol.”

StoreDot CEO Dr. Doron Myersdorf

Availability

StoreDot has reportedly secured numerous patents for the I-BEAM XFC’s architecture.

StoreDot aims to prepare the 100in5 cell technology for mass production this year as it continues to pursue commercialization.

As part of that plan, it will introduce the world’s first electric vehicle model equipped with its innovative XFC technology and ship matic B-samples to electric automakers. It also has plans to expand in the United States.
