Stellantis NV has announced that its Cassino Assembly Plant in Italy would construct electric vehicles using the adaptable and BEV-focused STLA Large platform.
The Cassino facility in Italy is responsible for producing high-end automobiles for the Alfa Romeo and Maserati brands.
About the Cassino assembly factory
Cassino is the second publicly recognized Stellantis plant to construct vehicles based on the STLA Large platform.
Benzinga reports that it will join the Windsor Assembly Plant in Canada, which is located in Canada.
The Cassino Assembly Factory is located in Piedimonte San Germano, in the south-central region of Italy. It was opened in 1972, and its operations include stamping, plating, painting, and producing plastic parts.
Stellantis to invest 30 billion Euros
More than thirty billion euros will be invested by Stellantis from now to 2025 in developing software and electrification technologies for battery electric vehicles (BEVs).
As for electric drive modules (EDMs) and modular battery packs that Stellantis designed, the STLA Large platform will have a range of up to 800 kilometers (500 miles) when using electric propulsion.
Notably, the technology will serve as the foundation for several upcoming vehicles from Stellantis brands.
