Multinational automaker Stellantis has just established a separate business unit for its light commercial vehicle (LCV) products, the Pro One.
According to the press release published on October 18, 2023, Stellantis Pro One will solidify the automaker’s Commercial Vehicles Business as it seeks to dominate the global industry.
Stellantis Pro One coverage
The Stellantis Pro One will oversee the company’s LCV business operations, including the following products:
- vans, pickup trucks, micro-mobility
- vehicles, electrified propulsions, an
- integrated converter/upfitter ecosystem
- fully connected vehicle technologies
Stellantis’ Pro One covers six of its automotive brands, including Citroën, Fiat, Opel, Peugeot, Ram, and Vauxhall.
“We are launching Pro One to leverage our undeniable commercial vehicles leadership with the concept – six brands, one force – as this business accounts for one-third of Stellantis Net revenues. As customer expectations grow more complex and diverse, we are here to address each specific need with a dedicated solution. Our mission – 3 – is to stand side by side with our customers around the world and deliver the products and services that help them thrive.”
JeanPhilippe Imparato, Head of the Stellantis Commercial Vehicles Business Unit
This particular business delivers one-third of the company’s overall net revenues with an annual sales of 1.6 million units.
That said, launching a separate unit for this business is crucial for the company to hit its Dare Forward 2030 goals. For context, Stellantis aims to boost the business’ net revenues by twofold by 2030 from the 2021 record. It intends to have electric-powered units account for 40% of the overall volume and deliver service revenues of €5 billion in the same year.
The e-pickup trucks in the pipeline
Motor1.com reported Stellantis plans to release four new electric pickup truck models by 2026.
It apparently includes the RAM 1500 REV and a hydrogen-based pickup truck. However, Stellantis has yet to disclose details about the other two models in the pipeline.
“The renewal of the entire Stellantis van range, based on second generation electric offers, along with the electrification of four pickups from 2024 onwards, are at the heart of the ‘Pro One’ project based on a 360-degree, customer-centric approach, and ambition to reinforce our international leadership in commercial vehicles.”
Xavier Peugeot, Senior Vice President of Stellantis Commercial Vehicles Business Unit
Targets
Stellantis aims to electrify 100% of its battery-electric passenger car portfolio in Europe in 2030.
That percentage drops to 50% for its all-electric passenger car and light-duty trucks mix in the US in the same year.
All these are part of the company’s wider efforts to hit carbon neutrality across its operations by 2038.
