Hispano Suiza, the Spanish legacy automotive engineering company, released the first official teaser video of its third electric hypercar named “Carmen Sagrera” on Monday.
The teaser video emerged ahead of the new model’s official launch later this year.
Carmen Sagrera’s design
As per the press release, Hispano Suiza’s upcoming Carmen Sagrera commemorates the company’s extensive history with sportier features. It will also maintain the brand’s iconic design principles as “the ideal testimony to the 120-year history of the company.”
The teaser video did not reveal many details about the new Carmen Sagrera model. Nonetheless, reports suggest it will feature a carbon fiber cover with a longer range than its predecessors.
Prominent automotive designer Francesc Arenas designed the Carmen Sagrera, a Hispano Suiza employee since 2017. It will sport a rear end with an enormous exposed carbon fiber spoiler.
Technical specs
The Carmen Sagrera will feature a larger battery with a 103 kWh capacity that improves driving range from just more than 248-mile range of the standard Carmen and Carmen Boulogne.
For reference, its sibling Carmen Boulogne employs an 80 kWh pack with up to 400km (249 miles) all-electric range. The previous version rides on a 700V platform that delivers a maximum torque of 1,160 Nm and 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration in just below 2.6 seconds.
Therefore, it is highly likely that the new Carmen Sagrera will beat these remarkable specifications, considering that it will be “sportier.”
About Hispano Suiza
Hispano Suiza is a Spanish boutique automaker established in 1904.
It became a major automotive player by launching luxury cars, aircraft engines, trucks, and weapons throughout the early- to mid-1900s.
The company restored its prominent name in the industry when it started to shift its focus to hypercars over a decade ago. This brand revival commenced in 2019, along with the introduction of its 24-unit electric hypercar model, Carmen.
It then introduced a new variant of the electric hypercar named Carmen Boulogne with a base price of $1.93 million, limited to only five units.
Excitingly, Hispano Suiza is now on track to release its third electric hypercar offering that can potentially impress its fans again.
Hispano Suiza will formally introduce the Carmen Sagrera in June 2024 to celebrate its 120th anniversary. We can expect to learn more about this new electric hypercar model by then. For now, you can watch the 12-second teaser video of the model below:
