Japanese legacy automaker Nissan is trying to entice Chevy Bolt EV/EUV drivers in the United States with a $1,000 bonus under its new “LEAF Conquest” program, CarsDirect reports, citing the dealer bulletin.

Chevy Bolt owners get $1,000 bonus toward Nissan LEAF purchase

Nissan has launched its new LEAF Conquest program to attract current owners and lessees of Chevy Bolt EV/EUV models.

Under the program, Chevy Bolt EV/EUV drivers can benefit from a $1,000 bonus when they buy or lease a Nissan Leaf EV.

It must be noted that Nissan exclusively offers this rebate to customers who get financing at one of the automaker’s promotional rates or when leasing through NMAC.

No trade-in required for LEAF purchase

Nissan officially opened this new program on May 3, and it will be available until July 8.

Such conquest programs are no longer unusual in the electric vehicle industry. However, Nissan’s move to target Chevrolet Bolt EV and EUV drivers is somehow peculiar.

Notably, interested Nissan Leaf customers under this program do not need to trade in their Chevrolet Bolt EV and EUV models to benefit from the $1,000 bonus. They can also transfer the incentive to other members of their household.

Nissan Leaf’s affordable pricing in the US

With a base price of only $28,140, the 2024 Nissan LEAF managed to become one of the cheapest electric vehicles in the US market.

Latest Cox Automotive data showed that the Nissan Leaf was the most affordable electric vehicle in Q1 2024, owing to its average price of $27,956, including discounts. Its sibling, Nissan Ariya, followed with a $35,556 average selling price.

These figures can further drop to as low as $24,390 after regaining access to the federal tax credits under the Inflation Reduction Act.

As GM halted production of the Chevy Bolt EV in late 2023, Nissan seeks to entice drivers with its LEAF Conquest offer.

However, GM has also launched its own offer for Bolt EV drivers to encourage them to upgrade to the new Chevy Blazer or Equinox. Current Bolt EV drivers can gain up to $3,000 off the Equinox EV and $1,500 off the Blazer EV through July 1, 2024.
