Japanese automaker Nissan finally revealed the physical version of its Max-Out electric convertible concept over a year after its release in November 2021. The unveiling of the highly anticipated concept is a crucial part of the upcoming Nissan Futures event in Japan from February 4 to March 4, 2023.
Max-Out electric convertible concept
As stated, Nissan launched the concept in November 2021 under its Nissan Ambition 2030. For context, the said strategy is focused on electrifying half of the automaker’s lineup. It includes the debut of 15 new EVs by the decade’s end.
Going back, Nissan finally unveiled the physical model on February 2 as part of the Nissan Futures Event at its global HQ in Yokohama, Japan. The model will be displayed throughout the company’s event.
The Max-Out model appears to be a two-seater convertible to embody Nissan’s concept of “being one with the car.” It will be mounted on the CMF-EV platform used by Nissan and Renault cars. Reports suggest the model will have two electric motors to power all four wheels.
The model has a wide open-air vent with a conventional grille. It also has distinct wheels with LED that shows a vortex pattern. Inside, the model’s dashboard has a single widescreen display for infotainment display, among others.
As per the press release, Nissan developed the model to deliver an empowering sensation of “openness,” enabling a more enjoyable, dynamic driving experience. Furthermore, Nissan claims that the Max-Out model represents Nissan’s commitment to encouraging increased access to both sustainable and innovative mobility.
Apart from these, Nissan has not yet provided further details about the Max-Out electric convertible concept model.
Notably, the Max-Out concept, along with the Chill-Out, Surf-Out, and Hang-Out that Nissan revealed in November 2021, are crucial to the automaker’s EV strategy.
Nissan declared a target of converting 75% of its fleet to either HEV, PHEV, or BEV in Europe by 2030. The target drops to 55% in Japan and 40% in the US and China. To achieve this, Nissan will invest approximately $17.6 billion for its EV and battery development.
