Chinese automaker NIO is set to launch its second NIO House in Frankfurt, Germany, on March 30 amid its expansion efforts in Europe. The company announced the news today via a post in its NIO App’s European edition.
For context, the report noted that Frankfurt is a significant regional transit hub that welcomes millions of tourists annually. Furthermore, numerous financial institutions are located there, including the German Bundesbank and the European Central Bank.
About NIO House
NIO refers to its flagship showrooms as “NIO Houses,” which also incorporates the smaller facilities of NIO Spaces.
However, these facilities are not just focused on displaying the Chinese automaker’s product. The NIO Houses enables the company to provide its clients with a high-quality lifestyle. Notably, the facility offers two areas for model displays and numerous user functions.
NIO’s European expansion
In retrospect, the automaker launched its first European NIO House in Berlin on October 1, 2021.
One month prior, NIO officially unveiled its flagship ET7 sedan in Germany. During the same period last year (September 2022), the company deployed its first battery swap station in the country.
One month later, the automaker’s NIO Berlin launch event unveiled the three newest models: ET7, EL7, and ET5.
Apart from that, NIO also provides its subscription service in Germany, allowing customers to lease its EVs. It is indeed a remarkable offer compared to other markets where NIO sells its EVs directly. Notably, the automaker has already started delivering the EVs bought through the subscription program.
On the other hand, deliveries for those EVs beyond the subscription service have not yet started.
Then, NIO officially launched its ET7, EL7, and ET5 to the European market on November 21.
That said, NIO is aggressively penetrating Europe with its EVs, battery-swapping technologies, and showrooms. It even hit its 10,000th battery swap in the region on February 21.
“One of the “biggest worries of EV ownership is range anxiety. NIO Power Swap Stations are a solution to help address this concern and to provide you with a recharging experience beyond refueling.”
