NIO models on eCarExpo

Models on show at the Swedish EV expo, the eCarExpo, included the EL7, ET7, ET5, and EP9 supercar. The event was held this month and covered Europe’s electric cars and sustainability trends.

Don't miss the chance to see one of the world's fastest electric cars in real life!

Notably, the EP9 supercar was bought for the show to highlight NIO’s performance focus on the company’s products. Additionally, the supercar model broke multiple EV records at Nürburgring when it was tested in 2016. With a 7:05.12 lap time, it was the fastest electric car to lap the famous race track.

The showcase at the eCarExpo in Sweden follows after the carmaker launched its range of electric cars across numerous markets on the continent.

As part of the show, the automaker invited new consumers to test drive the ET7 sedan. According to the company, the consumers had positive impressions of the test drive and gave valuable feedback.

The new NIO ET7 is the Car of the Year according to the leading car magazine Auto Motor & Sport Sverige, which writes:

NIO ET7 bagged Auto Motor & Sport Sverige’s 2022 Car of the Year Award

Furthermore, the NIO ET7 has won Auto Motor & Sport Sverige‘s 2022 Car of the Year award. Typically, the award goes to European premium luxury brands, so for the company to launch in Europe and win is a significant achievement.

In China, the brand says it has its ET7 with a 1,000 km (621 miles) range variant with a 150 kWh battery pack. In Europe, the WLTP range with a 75 kWh battery pack is about 445 km (276 miles).

NIO has opened its first battery swap station in Sweden to support its expansion in Europe.

According to the company, the next step will be opening other stations, including one in the Netherlands, to hit its goal of installing 4,000 stations.

NIO’s battery swap stations

Part of the Europe launch involved the rollout of NIOs battery swap stations so NIO’s electric vehicles can swap a depleted battery with a fully charged one in about seven minutes.

In November, the manufacturer opened its first battery swap station site in Sweden.

Moreover, the company is opening up experience centers in Sweden. It opened its first experience center early in December at Stockholm’s Westfield Täby Mall Centrum.

It is worth noting that this is progress for an EV company with a multi-continent launch plan. According to NIO’s founder, William Li, a more affordable brand is on the cards alongside the launch of some new models for the global market in 2023.
