Tesla drivers will now have a different penalty when caught being inattentive while using the Full Self-Driving (FSD) option in their electric vehicle.
What is the new penalty?
Glamsham reported, that Tesla users caught inattentive while operating the FSD cannot strictly gain access to Tesla’s Full Self-Driving Beta Program for “approximately two weeks.” It differs from Tesla’s previous penalty, which disables the FSD and temporarily removes the driver from the Beta program.
In the previous penalty, only the automaker with the power of the inattentive driver could go back to the Beta program.
Additionally, based on Tesla’s latest software release note, the use of Full Self-Driving Beta would be suspended if incorrect behavior is discovered. The reason for the suspension is to maximize safety and responsibility.
When do you know you are being inattentive during FSD or doing improper usage?
According to Tesla’s latest software release note:
· When you or another driver in your car experiences five “Forced Autopilot Disengagements.”
· “Keep your hands on the wheel and remain attentive at all times. Use of any hand-held devices while using Autopilot is not allowed.”
“A disengagement is when the Autopilot system disengages for the remainder of a trip after the driver receives several audio and visual warnings for inattentiveness. Driver-initiated disengagements do not count as improper usage and are expected from the drive.”

On the brighter side, the EV giant tweeted that they plan to conduct an “Investor Day” on March 1 to talk and disclose essential things such as a new vehicle platform.
