This significant gain accelerates the industry’s pace towards a 50% market share later this year.

In the Netherlands, 47% of new car sales were plugin car sales in September. Furthermore, 34% were full electrics!

Monthly – September 2023

The Netherlands‘ new plug-in electric car registrations surged about 55% YoY to 13,916 units, InsideEVs reports, citing EV Volumes’ data.

Impressively, plug-in vehicles’ market share also grew to 47% last month. It indicated a major increase from just 35% in the same period last year.

That said, it would be unsurprising to see the local plug-in electric car industry hit a 50% market share in the following quarter.
