Chinese-owned automotive brand MG appears to have finally begun the mass production of its first electric roadster, the 2024 MG Cyberster.
According to CarNewsChina founder @TychodeFeijter, the spied production models of the MG Cyberster are undergoing final inspection in an enormous holding yard in the company’s factory. Some of the units were being loaded onto trucks for shipment. However, the X post did not indicate the specific location.

As you can see in the spy photos, the MG Cybersters mostly feature red, grey, and ‘Bullet Silver’ body paints.
Reports suggest that the Cybersters will undergo production at its parent company SAIC’s Ningde plant, the same manufacturing site of the MG 4 electric hatch and MG 5 petrol sedan.
Drive also noted that the cars in the spy shots feature two different wheel layouts. It also showed that the models actually have Lamborghini-style’ scissor’ doors.
What’s currently known about the MG Cyberster?
The new MG Cyberster has a length of 4535mm, a width of 1913mm, and a height of 1329mm. Meanwhile, its wheelbase is measured at 2690mm.
It also features a heavier weight for a standard roadster, between 1850kg-1985kg.
It offers two powertrain configurations, including the single-motor rear-wheel drive and the all-wheel drive powertrain.
The RWD variant has a maximum power of 231kW. Meanwhile, the RWD can generate a maximum output of 400kW and a torque of 725Nm. It can also accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 3.2 seconds.
It will also offer two battery options, including the 64kWh or 77kWh. The larger battery pack option can enable a CLTC-estimated driving range of up to 580km.

Timeline
MG initially introduced the Cyberster at the previous 2023 Shanghai Auto Show, with plans to sell in the Chinese market as early as next year.
MG plans to start accepting pre-sales for the new Cyberster and reveal the official pricing on September 26 in its home market. As indicated in the X post, many Chinese dealers have already obtained display models to aid the pre-sales process.
It also announced plans to begin customer deliveries in the UK and European markets in mid-2024.
Meanwhile, MG Motor Australia spokesperson told CarExpert that the Cyberster may arrive on local shores not until late 2024.

As mentioned, MG has yet to reveal the pricing of the new Cyberster. However, the report suggests that it would have a price of approximately $120,000 in Australia.
