British automaker MG Motor, through its Indian arm, partnered with major electric vehicle charging company Charge Zone to aid in the expansion of its charging network across India.
Partnership details
According to ETEnergyWorld, MG and Charge Zone will cooperate in the establishment of new charging stations in various key areas in the coming months, including MG dealerships, highways, and cities.
Through this partnership, these locations will soon offer charging services for current and future electric vehicle owners.
They primarily aim to establish accessible and reliable public charging infrastructures nationwide to promote the shift to electric mobility.
EV owners can easily navigate the charging station locations using the Charge Zone mobile app, which aims to offer a seamless experience for finding, using, and paying for the MG-Charge Zone charging stations.
“This strategic partnership reflects our commitment to sustainable mobility and our dedication to providing our customers with a seamless electric vehicle ownership experience. Our meaningful industry associations and partnerships, including this substantive collaboration with CHARGE ZONE, underscores our steadfast focus on building a charging infrastructure that supports the evolving needs of electric vehicle owners, providing them with convenient, efficient, and reliable charging solutions.”

According to ElectricVehicles.in, MG and Charge Zone’s charging stations will be open to all electric vehicle models regardless of brand.
However, the companies will offer preferential treatment to MG EV owners aiming to use the charging infrastructures. These include additional incentives like discounts, among others.
“In the realm of electric mobility, the need for a reliable high-speed charging infrastructure is paramount. Our partnership with MG Motor India signifies a shared vision to overcome the challenges that accompany this transformation. Building a nationwide network of charging stations is not merely a task; it’s an investment in the future of sustainable transportation. By joining forces, CHARGE ZONE and MG are laying the foundation for a connected and electrified India, where the charging experience is as reliable and forward-thinking as the vehicles it supports.”
Kartikey Hariyani, Founder and CEO, CHARGE ZONE
This new partnership is crucial for MG Motor India to establish a strong EV ecosystem in the country and alleviate customers’ concerns over charging infrastructures. As of today, the brand has already deployed more than 12,000 EV chargers under its own network across the country. It also currently sells two EV models in the local market, including the Comet and ZS EVs.
