German legacy automaker Mercedes-Benz is expected to offer a small electric SUV under the G-Wagen portfolio. According to MotorTrend, the company may launch the model nicknamed “Little G” EV in 2026.
Without further ado, here’s what we know so far about the new electric G-Wagen model.
About the Mercedes Little G
The all-electric Mercedes Little G is an off-roader with a smaller body than the current G-Class model. It reportedly uses Stuttgart’s most recent technology to enable zero-emission driving and superior luxury feels.
In hindsight, Chief Ola Kallenius gave the Little G nickname to the upcoming model at the 2023 IAA Mobility Show in Munich.
Exterior design
According to Motor1, the Mercedes Little G EV will have a similar appearance as the G-Class. As the name implies, it will be significantly smaller in stature.
It will feature a boxy retro exterior design. Rendering experts also reckon it will have a closed-off grille, tri-star logo, and illuminated accents.
It will also have a rugged appearance with off-road tires, given that it is an off-road SUV. Its front fascia, wheel wells, and rear bumper are expected to integrate plastic cladding.
It may also offer more off-road features, such as brush guards, skid plates, and tow hooks.
Performance
The report further indicated that the Mercedes Little G may ride on the new t Mercedes Modular Architecture (MMA).
It will reportedly support 800V charging and offer just over 300 miles of driving range with standard AWD configuration.
Mercedes has yet to announce some specific details like battery size, motor, and capacities.
Pricing
Estimates suggest that the Mercedes Little G may have a starting price of approximately $55,000 to 65,000.
For reference, the full-size G 550 SUV sells at about $140,000, while the AMG G 63 at $179,000.
Reports also anticipate Mercedes to officially introduce the new model by 2026.

The potential arrival of the new baby G-Class can significantly aid the company in boosting its sales and deliveries. It will surely attract more customers to the luxury brand. Mercedes is also expected to launch the full-size G-Class EV sometime in 2024.
