Lotus has officially debuted the Eletre, an all-electric hyper-SUV, following the completion of a new manufacturing plant in China this past summer. All the relevant performance specifications and pricing from Lotus are included in today’s announcement during a global live stream called “Unleash the Future,” as per InsideEVs.
“The launch of the Eletre is the natural next step for Lotus,” said Lotus Group vice-president and managing director Matt Windle. “Two-seater sports cars are not for everyone, and we want to offer a Lotus for every stage of your life. The Eletre is the start of that.”
Lotus Eletre, Eletre S, and Eletre R
The following are the three models available, all of which offer speed and luxury:
• Eletre: a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive vehicle with 450 kilowatts (603 horsepower), 710 Newton-meters (523 pound-feet) of torque, 112-kWh battery pack, WLTP range of 373 miles and a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration in 4.5 seconds
• Eletre S: a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive vehicle with 450 kilowatts (603 horsepower), 710 Newton-meters (523 pound-feet) of torque, 112-kWh battery pack, WLTP range of 373 miles and a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration in 4.5 seconds
• Eletre R: a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive vehicle with 675 kW (905 hp), 985 Nm (726 lb-ft) of torque, 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h), 112-kWh battery pack, WLTP range of 304 miles, acceleration in 2.95 seconds and top speed of 165 mph (265 km/h)
Compared to the Eletre and Eletre S, the Eletre R is marketed as the world’s fastest dual-motor pure electric SUV. According to Lotus, a rapid charger can charge the battery from 10 to 80% in 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, the Lotus Dynamic Handling Pack, Ceramic Brake Pack, Executive Seat Pack, Comfort Seat Pack, Carbon Fiber Pack, Extended Carbon Fiber Pack, and Interior Carbon Fiber Pack are among the option packs that are now available for all models. The Parking Pack and a Highway Assist Pack are also two more Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Packs that are offered.
“Base” model starts at £89,500 in the UK, €95,990 in Germany
The Eletre base model is priced at £89,500 in the UK and €95,990 in Germany, which equates to roughly $95,700. Buyers who spend this much money will receive a lot of standard equipment. It includes torque vectoring, matrix LED headlights, five drive modes, an active front grille, active air suspension, and 22-inch 10-spoke forged wheels.
The Lotus Eletre S has several more standard amenities, including “privacy glass, an active rear spoiler, customizable ambient lighting, illuminated side sills, soft door close, auto-dimming side mirrors, and an air quality system,” as per the report. A 2,160-watt, 23-speaker KEF Reference Audio is also included. It starts at £104,500 in the UK and €120,990 in Germany.
On the other hand, the range-topping Lotus Eletre R has a starting price of £120,000 in the UK and €150,990 in Germany. It is the only model equipped with a standard Track Mode. In addition to more performance-focused damper and anti-roll control settings, Track Mode lowers the ride height. A launch control, as well as a completely open active grille, are also included.
Buyers’ Choice
Customers have a choice of six exterior colors, five-wheel styles, six brake caliper colors, 20-, 22-, and 23-inch wheels, along with six distinct interior colors with available faux leather and artificial fiber for the carpets and boot lining.
The British automaker claims that it has received thousands of deposits from clients worldwide. In 2024, the Lotus Eletre will be offered in North America, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, and other locations, in addition to the UK and eight countries in western Europe (the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland).
Lotus is already a well-known global brand for lightweight, fun sports cars. The exotic sports cars produced by Geely-owned Lotus have now been joined by something more substantial. Given that many people appear to prefer the recently debuted hyper-SUV, this move will surely aid the company in establishing its footprint in the aforementioned markets.
