British automaker Lotus Cars has officially revealed its new all-electric hyper GT model, “Emeya,” at an event in New York on Thursday.
Electrek noted that Emeya signifies Lotus’ first 4-door hyper GT model and the second battery-electric offering.

Lotus boasts that the new Emeya has a next-gen smart cabin that enables superior driver-vehicle connection.

Technical details
Lotus revealed that the top-spec Emeya would have a high-power dual-motor configuration that enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just sub 2.8 seconds.
Lotus’ online configurator indicated that the new model generates a maximum output of 985 hp and 985 Nm of torque.
It also boasts a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). Moreover, it features a large battery pack with a 102 kWh capacity. It also has an 800-voltage BEV platform like the Eletre.
It can also support a 350 kW DC fast charging for an additional 150km (93 mi) range in just 5 minutes. Remarkably, it has a charging capacity of 10-80% in just 18 minutes.
Lotus has yet to announce the official driving range of the new Emeya EV.
This initial information hints that Lotus may also offer a single-motor RWD configuration for the Emeya EV.
Lotus’ upcoming EVs
The Geely-owned brand announced its electrification strategy in 2021. It aims to become an all-electric brand by launching new models through 2026.
Lotus’ first model was initially known as the “Type 132” under the E-segment SUV, which now goes by the official name “Eletre.”

Lotus aims to provide more details about the upcoming Emeya hyper-GT EV in the fourth quarter of 2023, such as market launch and pricing. Meanwhile, it plans to begin production as early as 2024.
