Jaguar reported 17,340 global retail car sales during the third quarter of 2022, which is nearly 10 percent less than the prior year, according to InsideEVs.
Though the year-over-year (YoY) decrease slowed down, the results are not good for consecutive quarters, as only one of the last fifteen quarters was positive.
Jaguar Land Rover Sales Figures in Q3 2022
The issue impacted the Jaguar Land Rover group, part of Tata Motors, due to production constraints concerning semiconductor shortages.
Generally, Jaguar had 17,340 sales (down 9.9%), Land Rover with 70,781 sales (down 3.6%), and Jaguar Land Rover with 88,121 sales (down 4.9%).
Jaguar Land Rover noted that the demands are still high, with global retail orders setting a new record in the third quarter with over 205,000 units (up 5,000 from June 30) as of September 30.
Jaguar I-PACE Sales Figures
The I-PACE global retail sales decreased by 1,972 (25.4% YoY) in the third quarter, which is the lowest record since its launch and production in 2018. In addition, I-PACE’s share of the total Jaguar volume decreased to 11.4% (from 13.7% last year). In 2022, the model totaled 6,161 sales (down 17%).
It is worth noting that its sales for the past few years were 6,893 (2018), 17,355 (2019), 16,457 (2020), 9,970 (2021), and 6,161 (Q1-Q3 2022). Cumulatively, more than 56,800 were sold globally.
Unfortunately, the automaker does not state its total plug-in car sales, despite having several plug-in hybrid models. Jaguar Land Rover aims to electrify its brands in the coming years, including the fully-electric Land Rover and the first all-electric Jaguar in 2024.
The Jaguar I-PACE was launched in 2018. It is an all-electric and all-wheel drive with a 90kWh battery, 395 horsepower, and 696 Newton-meter torque. It comes with an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty.
Furthermore, it comes with an 11kw onboard charger. It can go 33 miles per hour when connected to an 11kW wall box. It takes 8.6 hours to fully charged from empty.
When it’s ‘on the go’ charging, a 50kW charger adds around 39 miles in just 15 minutes, whereas a 100KW charger will add approximately 78 miles.
