This invitation comes shortly after CEO Musk hinted at potential investments in India, expressing his confidence in the country’s immense potential.
Minister Patil highlights Karnataka’s edges in an invitation to Tesla
Karnataka’s Minister of Infrastructure Development MB Patil publicly invited the American EV giant to set up electric vehicle productions in the state through a Twitter post.
Minister Patil emphasized Karnataka’s innovation and technological prowess to attract Tesla’s investment.
Minister Patil further underlined the government’s willingness to provide full support and necessary facilities for Tesla and other ventures led by billionaire Elon Musk, reiterating the commitment of the Congress regime to engage with Tesla.
“If Tesla considers setting up a plant in India, Karnataka, with its great potential and capabilities, I must say is “The Destination.”

CEO Musk plans a visit to India in 2024
Following a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CEO Musk expressed his plans to visit India in 2024.
“I am tentatively planning to visit India again next year. I am looking forward to it.”

CEO Musk went on to emphasize that he firmly believes in Tesla’s future in India. He even stated that the company would establish its presence in the country “as soon as humanly possible.”
The American business tycoon also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for his support and expressed hope for an upcoming announcement.
“I would like to thank PM Modi for his support and hopefully, we will be able to announce something in the not-too-distant future.”

In response, government officials have indicated that tax benefits will be considered once Tesla begins production in India.
