According to local publication Korean Car Blog, the new electric SUV will debut at the upcoming Busan Motor Show in South Korea on June 27, 2024.

The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 7 will reportedly make its world premiere at the 2024 Busan Motor Show this June with the automaker’s all-new eM platform, Seven-inspired styling, dual 12.3-inch displays, as well as over 336 miles of electric range. #Hyundai #HyundaiIoniq7 #Ioniq7 #BEVs pic.twitter.com/OgBwwf4kWn

What’s currently known about the new IONIQ 7?

As mentioned, the new Hyundai IONIQ 7 will be the brand’s first three-row electric SUV offering.

Hyundai initially unveiled the Seven concept at the 2021 Automobility LA to complete the IONIQ product portfolio and deliver a “whole new way of life.” In that sense, the design of the vehicle delivers a more enjoyable and comfortable driving experience.

Previous reports claimed to have spotted the IONIQ 7 while testing on the public.

It may share key components with Kia’s three-row electric SUV, EV9, such as 8-inch ground clearance. Reports from South Korea also claim that the new Hyundai SUV will offer 76.1 kWh and 99.8 kWh battery options. In addition, it is expected to come with 350 kW charging capabilities that enable 25-minute fast charging from 10% to 80%.

The Hyundai IONIQ 7 was previously spotted sitting beside the Kia EV9, revealing a similar body design, suspension, and wheels. You can watch the video content here.

The new IONIQ 7 seems slightly bigger upfront, with a sloped A-pillar that makes it look less boxy than the EV9.

It will also come with autonomous driving technologies, such as remote parking assist. It can also support over-the-air (OTA) software updates, emphasizing Hyundai’s focus on high technologies and owner comfort.

Hyundai’s electric vehicle business growth

Hyundai continues to ride on the growing popularity of electric vehicles amid the global shift to sustainable mobility. It has leveraged its innovative offerings based on the E-GMP platform, such as the award-winning IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6.

In 2023, Hyundai secured the fourth-highest spot in the US electric vehicle market with a 4.5% share, per S&P Global’s data.

In order to further solidify its presence in the US, it plans to launch its first-ever $7.6 billion electric vehicle and battery megaplant in Georgia in 2024. It is part of the automakers’ strategy to access federal tax credits of up to $7,500, while some American legacy automakers are scaling bank in their electrification efforts.

It may soon produce the new Hyundai IONIQ 7, enabling its future customers to benefit from the EV tax credits.

Production plans and other future plans

Hyundai reportedly plans to produce the new IONIQ 7 at its existing Asan factory in South Korea. Production will kick off in July 2024, given that everything goes according to plan.

It will also undergo production at the new smart factory in Georgia to qualify for the US federal tax credits of up to $7,500.

Hyundai has yet to announce the official launch of the IONIQ 7, but some reports expect the brand to hit the market for the 2025 model year.
