Hyundai Motor India has partnered with Tata Power to set up charging infrastructure at its dealerships across India.
Hyundai Motor India Ltd. and Tata Power announced their partnership to set up fast-charging stations across its dealerships in the country on Tuesday.
Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO and MD of Tata Power, and Mr. Unsoo Kim, MD and CEO of Hyundai Motor India Ltd., signed the MoU at HMIL’s headquarters in Gurugram, Haryana.
Tata Power will install its EZ Charge fast chargers (DC 60kW) in Hyundai’s 34 EV dealer locations in 29 cities. The chargers will be available to all kinds of electric vehicles through Hyundai and Tata’s EZ Charge mobile app. Additionally, Hyundai EV owners will also get a special tariff and an end-to-end home charging solution for the customer’s convenience.

He added that this strategic partnership is fundamental in accelerating EV adoption.
“This partnership will power up the nation’s electric mobility mission by offering end-to-end EV charging infrastructure at HMIL dealerships along with supply, installation, and commissioning of home charging for HMIL EV customers, thereby enhancing customer convenience and ease of adoption of Electric vehicles,” Kim said.

Currently, Hyundai offers the KONA Electric SUV in India. It plans to launch the Ioniq 5 later this year. The Korean automaker has also invested Rs 4,000 crore to expand its Battery-Electric Vehicle (BEV) lineup in the country. They also plan to launch six more EV models by 2028.
