Hyundai IONIQ 5’s remarkable qualities

As mentioned, the popular Hyundai IONIQ 5 beat all the tested 2023 EVs in the market. The EV offers an estimated range of 220-303 miles and an efficiency of 101-114 mpg-equivalent for a price of $42,785 to $53,935, including destination charge.

Estimated efficiency101-114 mpg-equivalent

The automaker claims that the IONIQ 5’s exclusive Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) primarily advanced the EV in the competition. The platform apparently offers larger interior space and maximized performance for the IONIQ 5.

Furthermore, Hyundai boasted that the IONIQ 5 dominated the rankings despite the numerous 2023 EVs and the final top 3.

“During a time when many consumers are contemplating their first electric vehicle, Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 checks all the boxes. The IONIQ 5’s ultra-fast 800-volt multi-charging (10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes), and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function that is able to power small appliances, devices and even charge other EVs, are attractive features to buyers.”

Ricky Lao, Hyundai Motor North America’s director and product planning

Why Hyundai IONIQ 5?

Ride quality and overall excellence

Based on the test, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 is very simple to drive with its familiar controls. Additionally, it has a roomy, silent interior that is large enough for family use. Its cabin has an open seating area up front with a sliding center console for storage.

Whoa, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 wins the Drive: Best Electric Vehicle of the Year, beating Australia's top-selling EV, the Tesla Model 3.

The EV features a higher profile, which enhances its external appearance. Meanwhile, its speed is another outstanding feature. According to the test, it takes an all-wheel-drive IONIQ 5 Limited 4.72 seconds to reach 60 mph. The rear-wheel-drive variant can travel up to 303 miles on a full charge, while AWD models can travel up to 266 miles.

As for its standard safety features, Cars.com noted the following features:

· automatic emergency braking

· lane departure steering assist

· adaptive cruise control

· blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert

Charging speed

The 800-volt architecture of the IONIQ 5 allows for faster charging when using a 350 kW DC fast charger.

Cars.com reportedly gained 152 miles of range during the 18-minute charging from an 18% to an 80% state of charge. Meanwhile, the IONIQ 5 also supports a standard 10.9-kW onboard charger for home charging.

Additionally, the Ioniq 5 has what Hyundai refers to as “vehicle-to-load capabilities.” The technology enables you to use the high-voltage battery as a portable power source. You can use either the 1.9 kW outlet that comes standard on Limited trims or an adaptor available in the charging port (suitable for 1.8 kW).

“Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 stands out as a well-rounded all-electric SUV, which is why it’s Cars.com’s Best Electric Vehicle of 2023. The IONIQ 5 is an excellent choice for first-time EV shoppers interested in making the jump to EV ownership as well as seasoned EV owners.

Here’s what makes the IONIQ 5 a winner: It’s easy to drive with many of the familiar controls of a traditional gas-powered vehicle; it has a spacious, airy interior that’s large enough for families; and its taller profile offers good outward visibility. The 800-volt architecture allows drivers to add miles of range faster than most other mainstream EVs when using a 350-kilowatt DC fast charger, which will ease the minds of the range-anxious.”
