Hyundai touts tech-packed EVs

Hyundai is trying to sustain its upward sales trend in the US electric vehicle market this year by launching its new eye-catching video campaign for its current product lineup.

The new video commercial shows off Hyundai’s most innovative technologies and features packed in its electric vehicles. As you can see, it showcases the Hyundai IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, and Kona Electric while racing around the streets.

Hyundai’s move to intensify its electric vehicle push demonstrates its stronger commitment to the transition compared to other rivals, which are scaling back their EV plans.

“While other companies are pulling back on their electrification strategy, we are continuing to reach the EV-curious buyer to show them the compelling design and technology Hyundai has to offer.

As we put a continued focus on our electrification business goals and our electric vehicle lineup, we wanted something that would stand out from all other advertising we have in-market.”

Promotion efforts

Apart from the latest EV Campaign for the IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, and Kona Electric, Hyundai also prepared a 60-second and a 30-second video promotion launched in mid-May.

These materials will run through summer at major events, such as the Olympics, NBA Playoffs, and MLB season.

Hyundai also plans to solidify its digital presence on Reddit by launching the new HyundaiUSA Reddit Pro account. It plans to provide an official AMA (Ask Me Anything), which a company representative will host to answer current and potential customers’ questions.

EV progress

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 advanced to be the sixth top-selling electric vehicle model in the US market in 2023. It managed to sustain this momentum through 2024, with electric vehicle sales surging 51%.

Through April 2024, Hyundai sold more than  10,500 IONIQ 5 (+31% YOY) and 4,899 IONIQ 6 (+341%) models in the US.

These remarkable results are unsurprising, considering how Hyundai’s EV models are overthrowing the competition with their enticing prices and innovative features.
