South Korean legacy automaker Hyundai, through its Indian arm, is on track to introduce the all-electric Creta SUV following the launch of the facelifted version and the Creta N line in the country.
Industry enthusiasts recently spotted a fully camouflaged test mule of the new Creta electric SUV while testing in the wild in South Korea, giving us some hints on what we can expect from the upcoming model.
Design
As per the spy shots, Hyundai based the Creta electric SUV on the Creta facelift. It revealed the model’s identical LED daytime running light (DRL) running on the front profile’s entire width.
It also appears to have design elements similar to those of the traditional gas-powered Creta, such as the LED projector headlamps. However, the electric vehicle variant has a closed panel, unlike the conventional radiator grille of the new Creta facelift.
In addition, the all-electric Creta sports a 17″ aero-designed alloy wheels. This pair of wheels is apparently exclusive to the electric vehicle variant, signifying the most notable update from its ICE-powered counterpart.
Technical details and other key features
Unfortunately, Hyundai has been reluctant to share the new Creta e-SUV’s technical specifications. Some reports suggest that the new model will deliver a driving range of approximately 450 kilometers between chargers from a 55—to 60 kWh battery pack.
Nonetheless, the new Hyundai Creta electric SUV is expected to offer a large touchscreen infotainment system with the following features:
- An electric vehicle-based user interface
- An all-digital instrument cluster with new graphics
- An upgraded center console
It will also reportedly come equipped with a 360-degree surround camera and Level 2 ADAS suite. As you can see in the spy shots, the front camera is located at the center of the nose section up front.
Notably, Hyundai plans to launch the 2024 Hyundai Creta e-SUV in the Indian market in the third quarter of CY 2024. It is expected to have a price range of Rs. 30.00 – 35.00 Lakh per CarWale.
