As per the agreement, Huawei commits to offer its demand insight capabilities and its market to aid its partner in developing new products. The tech giant pledged to contribute its user experience, advanced smart driving, digitalization, and HarmonyOS cockpit, among others, for the partnership’s success.

Meanwhile, Seres will continue to “iterate, evolve and improve” the current models’ product experiences.

Apart from that, the partners will collaborate to develop a new vehicle platform, which the report noted as the first flagship model. The companies aim to launch the said platform as soon as this year.

Interestingly, the partnership intends to equip the new platform with advanced intelligent driving systems, as reported by CnEVPost, citing Seres. The EV brand has also claimed to debut various new models using the innovative platform.

As mentioned, Seres further declared ambitious plans, including the partnership’s target of selling 1 million NEV cars by 2026. The press release also noted the companies’ plans to pursue the development of a joint innovation center.

On February 15, #SERES announced that the long-term deep cross-border cooperation relationship and cooperation mode with #HUAWEI have not changed.

Huawei’s auto business head Richard Yu, Seres Group founder & chairman Zhang Xinghai, and Chongqing attended the signing ceremony.

Huawei and Seres’ long-standing partnership

Huawei started selling the new Seres SF5 car across its flagship stores in China in April 2021.

A few months later, Huawei and Seres jointly introduced their first premium NEV brand AITO on December 2, 2021. The brand succeeded and debuted its first models, M5 EREV, M5 BEV, and M7 EREV.

Then, on November 2022, Huawei announced plans to advance AITO’s position to a global luxury smart EV in just three years. Now, the two companies are on to something bigger, with a 1 million NEV sales target by 2026.
