Reservation holders for Tesla‘s highly-awaited Cybertruck maintain high “intent to buy” rate, even years after its first introduction, per Recurrent Auto.
Survey findings
The study initially evaluated consumers’ intentions to purchase various reserved models in June last year. However, a replicated survey from last month has since been added to the update.
Compared to several newly revealed EVs, Recurrent found that Tesla EVs, including the Cybertruck, had extraordinarily high intent-to-buy ratings.

As you can see above, the data revealed that 75% of Cybertruck reservation holders still want to buy the car, similar to last year’s findings.
Interestingly, the Ford F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E, the Aptera, the Rivian R1T, R1S, and others also have significant “intent to buy” responses.
Contrarily, the Chevrolet Silverado EV had the lowest level of purchase intent, with just over 20% of reservation holders intending to actually make the purchase.
It is also intriguing to note that the Ford F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1T, and Tesla Cybertruck were the most popular brands of trucks for which customers made a significant number of reservations.
Tesla Cybertruck to reach reservation holders soon
It is a good thing that Tesla Cybertruck customers won’t have to wait too long. The Gigafactory Texas, the manufacturing site for the electric truck, adds more production machinery to its operational lineup.
Apart from that, the Cybertruck has also been spotted more frequently. It may imply that Tesla has finalized the EV’s prototype design, which may currently be undergoing regulatory certification.
