Leading multi-services provider Grab has announced plans to deploy its fleet of 8,500 electric vehicles in numerous cities in Indonesia by 2023, as reported by TEMPCO.CO.

On the other hand, state-owned companies PLN, Pertamina, and other parties are expected to build charging infrastructures to aid the demand brought in by the switch to electric vehicles.
Grab leads the electric vehicle drive in Indonesia
Neneng Goenadi claims at the G20 Bali Summit that Grab remains the leader in the country’s green mobility uptake with its enormous number of electric vehicles. In fact, it has a recorded distance of 100 million kilometers from its services.
“With our current fleet totaling 8,500 electric vehicles, we can reduce carbon emissions by around 10,000 tons or save up to 4 million liters of fuel. Our commitment as a great company is clear, which is to support electric-based vehicles in Indonesia.”

Furthermore, the company presented over 200 electric motorcycles at the special event for the Bali Traffic Police, which monitors the traffic in the province.
Grab is an “all-in-one platform” that offers mobility and deliveries. That said, such a large company’s commitment is crucial to help the country cut its carbon emissions.
