American legacy automaker General Motors has teamed up with retail giant Costco to make its electric vehicles more accessible to customers. Costco members can benefit from exclusive discounts on select EVs under the GM umbrella.
Costco Auto Program offers exclusive deals for GM EV buyers
GM is seeking to leverage Costco’s 50 million members in the United States to market its electric vehicles to a wider pool of audience, according to CNBC.
The American automaker will use the Costco Auto Program, which helps automakers and car dealers market and sell their products for a subscription fee.
“We have a great partnership with Costco, and I’m really bullish on Costco because I like their brand.”
GM North America President Marissa West

Intensifying competition in the EV market
GM’s partnership with Costco demonstrates its strong dedication to boosting electric vehicle sales and remaining competitive in the highly competitive market.
For context, Costco has also previously helped other automakers sell their EVs. It currently offers an exclusive $2,000 member discount for Volvo and Polestar, which will also end on July 31.
Costco Auto Program General Manager Maxwell proudly revealed that the initiative has helped sell over 500,000 cars annually on average over the last five years. It is also worth noting that 7% of applications on the program were for electric vehicles.
